The Canadian Institute’s 2nd Annual Western Canadian Conference on The Law of Policing is designed to give you two days of up-to-date substantive law as well as practical advice on implementing it in your organization. Here are just a few topics included in this year’s agenda:

– Investigating police corruption, featuring an FBI case study that wowed the audience at our spring Toronto conference

– An update on the domino effects from McNeil, including the challenges of finding roles for officers whose testimony may be impeached

– Appropriate use of social media both in investigations and internally

– Meeting the duty to accommodate in the police context

– Top civil cases of the year, including negligent investigation, gross negligence, duty to warn and other causes of action
