Railway Condition Monitoring June 18, 2008 June 20, 2008 United Kingdom

http://conferences.theiet.org/rcm08/index.htm
Following the success of the 3rd IET International Conference on Railway Condition Monitoring held in Birmingham in 2006 we are pleased to announce RCM 2008 to be held in Derby, UK.

As demand on the railway system increases, efficient asset management is crucial to maintaining a well performing and cost effective railway. To meet the demands of the business, modern asset management techniques are becoming increasingly reliant upon effective and reliable condition monitoring equipment.

For the latest technology developments to be successfully implemented in the commercial environment, it is crucial research and industry come together to discuss the practical applications of the technology and techniques. As the fourth in a successful series this event aims to provide a unique forum to showcase current research, product development and practical experience from academics, railway operators and railway system suppliers. Join us for this conference that focuses exclusively on condition monitoring for the global railway industry. All interested parties are invited to submit papers around this subject.

Organised by The Institution of Engineering and Technology Railway Network
Supported by the University of Birmingham and Railway Research UK

http://www.highways-management.co.uk
How can you ensure the successful implementation of your Asset Management Plan?

The year ahead is shaping up as one of the most challenging for local highways authorities. The need to ensure accurate valuation of your asset base, in line with the upcoming CIPFA report, and the increasing demand on effective network management following the introduction of the Traffic Management Act means that your authority must be up-to-date with the latest developments shaping your sector.

Add to this the continuing battle to defend your highways budget and growing demands on service level delivery, and successful implementation of your Asset Management Plan (AMP) presents a daunting task. Are you effectively prepared for the challenges that 2008 will bring?

IQPC??s Asset Management for Highways 2008, taking place on 31st March ?V 1st April 2008 at Millennium Copthorne Hotel, Birmingham is the only event addressing these challenges directly. This event, now in its 6th year, has established itself as an invaluable forum for highways and infrastructure managers to discuss the latest policy requirements and benchmark best practice. Seize this opportunity to address the operational and financial challenges that you and your colleagues face from increased budgetary scrutiny and a demanding policy environment.

By attending this event you will:

?? Establish the best practice methods of UK highways authorities
?? Get to grips with gross and depreciated asset valuation modelling
?? Gain an insight into future policy direction from major players
?? Examine the implications of the CIPFA review of local highways infrastructure finance
?? Improve on current processes and systems to deliver efficiency gains
?? Network with peers from the UK??s local authorities
?? Deliver on the increasingly high demands of the customer
?? Prove the value of highway infrastructure assets
?? Explore the latest technology to improve asset monitoring and data management

Every year, IQPC??s Asset Management for Highways event provides a valuable forum in which those involved with highways management and engineering participate in interactive discussion with experts from across the UK local authorities. It is a rare opportunity for you to benchmark your performance against those of other authorities and directly interact with major policy players.

http://www.marketforce.eu.com/eurail/
The Future of European Rail is a well-established and prestigious event, leading the market in addressing the key strategic issues and evaluating the latest developments in the rail industry on a truly pan-European scale. 2008 will mark the 13th anniversary of this highly regarded flagship event, and this year’s conference promises to be our best yet. Our conference offers unrivalled, in-depth content that is strategic and future-orientated, providing an overview of developments in the industry throughout Europe. In response to feedback from our 2007 event, we will have a renewed focus on networking in 2008, with a new-look session allowing delegates to network while engaging with the hot topics.
