PURPOSE / HISTORY:

This set of joint conferences is the largest annual gathering of
researchers in computer science, computer engineering and applied
computing. Many of the 25 joint conferences in WORLDCOMP are the
premier conferences for presentation of advances in their respective
fields. We anticipate to have 2,600 or more attendees from over 80
countries participating in the 2008 joint conferences.

The motivation is to assemble a spectrum of affiliated research
conferences into a coordinated research meeting held in a common
place at a common time. The main goal is to provide a forum for
exchange of ideas in a number of research areas that interact. The
model used to form these annual conferences facilitates communication
among researchers from all over the world in different fields of
computer science, computer engineering and applied computing. Both
inward research (core areas of computer science and engineering) and
outward research (multi-disciplinary, inter-disciplinary, and
applications) will be covered during the conferences.

WORLCOMP’08 will be composed of research presentations, keynote
lectures, invited presentations, tutorials, panel discussions, and
poster presentations. In recent past, keynote and/or tutorial speakers
included: Prof. Michael J. Flynn (Stanford U.); Prof. John H. Holland
(U. of Michigan, Ann Arbor); Prof. H. J. Siegel (Colorado State U.);
Prof. Barry Vercoe (MIT); Prof. Ruzena Bajcsy (U. of California,
Berkeley); Prof. David Cheriton (Stanford U.), Prof. A. K. Dunker
(Indiana U. and Purdue U.); Prof. Jun Liu (Harvard U.); Dr. Jim Gettys
(developer of X Window, …); Dr. Chris Rowen (President and CEO,
Tensilica, Inc.); and many other distinguished speakers.

name of the Contact Author and a maximum of 5 topical keywords that
would best represent the content of the paper. Finally, the name
of the conference that the paper is being submitted to must be
stated on the first page.

Papers will be evaluated for originality, significance, clarity,
impact, and soundness. Each paper will be refereed by two experts
in the field who are independent of the conference program committee.
The referees’ evaluations will then be reviewed by two members of
the program committee who will recommend a decision to the chair of
the track that the paper has been submitted to. The chair will make
the final decision. Lastly, the Camera-Ready papers will be reviewed
by one member of the program committee.

Call for Papers

The 2007 CollECTeR Conference on Electronic Commerce in Australia will be held from December 9-11, at the Langham Hotel in Melbourne, in association with:

the 5th International Supply Chain Management and I.S. Conference (SCMIS)

the 2007 Australian Conference for KM and Intelligent Decision Support (ACKMIDS)

The 2007 CollECTeR Conference is designed to be an interactive experience ? an expert discussant will be assigned to each paper who will be asked firstly to respond directly to the paper, then to facilitate broad-ranging and extensive discussion. In the workshop spirit, ample time will be made available to allow for a full exploration of the ideas contained within ? and the implications of ? each paper and, where appropriate, for discussion on methodological issues arising from the research. As a consequence, research supervisors may feel that this workshop is a particularly useful venue for papers arising from doctoral/post-graduate research projects.

The Programme Committee actively seeks papers describing novel, radical and, indeed, controversial ideas ? papers may describe either competed research or work in progress. Researchers are encouraged to submit either ?work in progress? papers (around 3,000 words), or full papers on completed research (around 5,000 words). Papers should be original and not previously published. All papers will be double-blind-reviewed by two members of the Programme Committee, experienced researchers with extensive expertise in the area.

Accepted papers will be published in the Proceedings which will be available, in CD-ROM format, at the Conference itself; and from the CollECTeR web site. Additional copies of the Proceedings on CD-ROM will also be available for purchase. Authors will be required to transfer a non-exclusive right to publish the paper within the conference proceedings (in CD-ROM, WWW and paper formats) but this does not preclude the authors from later publication of the paper elsewhere.

The highlighted topic area for CollECTeR 2007 is ?E-Enterprise Integration? and suggested topics for papers include (but are not restricted to):

Integrating E-Business into the organisation

Effective E-Government Service Delivery

Mobile applications for the Real World

E-CRM

Value creation for the E-Enterprise

Integrating RFID into the Business

Security and Privacy in the E-Enterprise
