International Joint Conference on Computer Vision and Computer Graphics Theory and Applications January 22, 2008 January 25, 2008 Portugal

http://www.visigrapp.org
The purpose of the International Joint Conference on Computer Vision and Computer Graphics Theory and Applications is to bring together researchers and

practitioners, including research scientists, engineers and practitioners on the areas of computer vision and computer graphics, interested in both

theoretical advances and applications in these fields. Computer Vision and Computer Graphics are knowledge areas that are becoming more and more

interrelated, with important interdisciplinary work often being the result of an iterative combined process of image analysis and synthesis with models

created in one of the fields being used to improve models created in the other.

The VISIGRAPP component conferences are specialized in the following topics:
- GRAPP is structured along four main tracks, covering different aspects related to Computer Graphics, from Modelling to Rendering, including Animation and

Interactive Environments.
- VISAPP has also four main tracks, namely: Image Formation and Processing, Image Analysis, Image Understanding and Motion, Tracking and Stereo Vision.

SCOPE
The Third International Conference on Computer Graphics Theory and Applications (GRAPP) aims at becoming a major point of contact between researchers,

engineers and practitioners in Computer Graphics. We have chosen Interactive Environments for Computer Graphics as the main topic. Indeed, games and virtual

environments currently dominate both research and practice in our field. The conference will be structured along four main tracks, covering different aspects

related to Computer Graphics, from Modeling to Rendering, including Animation and Interactive Environments.
We welcome papers describing original work in any of the areas listed below. Accepted papers, presented at the conference by one of the authors, will be

published in the Conference Proceedings. Papers describing advanced prototypes, systems, tools and techniques as well as general survey papers indicating

future directions are also encouraged. Paper acceptance will be based on quality, relevance to the conference themes and originality.
The conference program will include both oral and poster presentations. Special sessions, dedicated to case-studies and commercial presentations, as well as

technical tutorials, dedicated to technical/scientific topics, are also envisaged. Companies interested in presenting their products/methodologies or

researchers interested in lecturing a tutorial are invited to contact the conference secretariat.

CONFERENCE AREAS
Each of these topic areas is expanded below. Papers should address one or more of the listed topics, although authors should not feel limited by them.

Unlisted but related topics are also allowed.
1. Geometry and Modeling
2. Rendering
3. Animation and Simulation

Symposium on Applied Perception in Graphics and Visualization July 25, 2007 July 27, 2007 Germany

http://www.apgv.org/
Research in computer graphics and visualization has great potential to benefit from, and contribute to, research in perception.

Since 2004, this symposium has brought together researchers from the fields of perception, graphics and visualization, to facilitate a wider exchange of ideas. Our goals are to use insights from perception to advance the design of methods for visual, auditory and haptic representation, and to use computer graphics to enable perceptual research that would otherwise not be possible.

Submissions are invited in the broad range of areas at the intersection of computer graphics, visualization and perception. Specific examples include, but are not limited to: (1) applications of insights from perception to the development of algorithms for more efficient, effective or realistic modeling, rendering and/or animation, (2)
applications of perception in the design and evaluation of methods for more effective representation and communication of data, (3)
the study of perception and perceptual issues in virtual environments, and (4) computational aesthetics, stylization, and perceptual aspects of non-photorealistic rendering.

Submissions are particularly welcome in all areas of basic perception research that have applications in computer graphics and visualization.

Proceedings, which will include the poster abstracts, will be published by ACM SIGGRAPH. Best papers from the symposium will be invited to be extended for a special issue of the ACM Transactions on Applied Perception.

By collocating APGV 07 with the tenth annual T?bingen Perception Conference (TWK07), we aim to further promote communication with the core perception community, and also bring APGV back to Europe.
